The Heart Behind Joyfully Sorted

Kim is the founder of Joyfully Sorted, bringing a unique blend of design expertise and compassionate support to every project. Her professional background is rooted in formal training in fashion design, as well as interior design and décor, which taught her how smart planning can completely transform how a home feels and functions.

However, her greatest teacher has been her own life experience. After moving more than a dozen times and dramatically downsizing from a five-bedroom house to living on a boat, Kim gained a deep appreciation for intentional living, maximising small spaces, and the freedom that comes with letting go of excess.

Recognising that organising is rarely just about physical objects, Kim also holds a Life Coaching Diploma and has a background in counselling. She understands the emotional side of clutter, the memories attached to belongings, and the vulnerability of letting go. This unique perspective allows her to guide clients through the decluttering process with genuine empathy, encouragement, and practical guidance, ensuring both the physical and emotional aspects of creating a functional space are fully supported.

Words from Joyfully Sorted Homes!

I was so scared of the idea of letting some stranger see the mess in my spare room, but decided the embarrassment would be worth getting it sorted as I was just too overwhelmed to do it alone. Kim however approached it with such compassion and understanding, even explaining how it was just a symptom of something from my past I needed healing from. Kim guided me through the process of letting go of the clutter and allowed me to keep and organise what I still needed. It was such a freeing experience I am now eager for a follow up where I can let go of the stuff I still felt I needed but really don’t anymore. I would highly recommended Joyfully Sorted for non judgemental and compassionate decluttering.

Kim completely transformed my very unorganised kitchen and messy pantry. Repurposing items I already had and guiding me on which storage containers to buy where needed. I am now enjoying cooking and baking in my kitchen again without the stress of digging around for utensils and trying to find the ingredients in a messy pantry.

Helen Boshoff

I can honestly say that Joyfully Sorted helped us so much! Our house was starting to feel really cluttered, but she came in and transformed everything, sorting it neatly and making it far more efficient. By the time she was done, we had even cleared out so many old things we never used, which had been hidden away under everything else. We’ve recently moved, and she also helped us organize all our boxes properly, which made a huge difference. We’ll definitely be asking her for help again in our new place.
